Team Arrow had defeated Prometheus and had escaped Lian Yu.

But in the process the last few weeks had wrecked Thea enough that a simple summer cold had basically knocked her flat. Nothing serious thankfully, just a combo of stress and a summer cold messing her up all at once.

So she was basically stuck indoors on bed rest for a mere cold when she felt that now familiar chill that was Trunks's typical arrival. Little did she know it was a wild round of time travel phone tag since Felicity had called Ray who called Rip who called Trunks. Between coughing fits she calls from the sofa,"I know that chill anywhere!" as a nasty sneeze can be heard. But he would find her on the couch with enough tissues to stock a small army and looking as miserable as she sounded on the phone the prior night when she made it back to Star City.

Good thing she's out cold, because she didn't notice him blushing again with her comment. Smiling at the affection though, and making sure they're both comfortable, before he lets himself sleep as well.

Hopefully Thea is out good though, because Trunks has become a restless sleeper more lately. If he's absolutely exhausted, he sleeps like a log--but short of that, he sprawls. For all that he'll sprawl though, and shift, Trunks keeps an arm curled around her and Thea held close. Not quite a conscious thing on his part, but definitely borne from the fact that he cares about her and wants to protect her.

Normally he'd be up around 6am, 7am...often with the sunrise--even at the Time Nest. But he had pulled a late night, filling in for her, and Trunks was content. Well, content enough as he cuddled her and they were comfy--and her world was 'safe' in his mind enough, at least for now.

Sometime around 8AM was when Thea was woken up by a coughing fit, not nasty but still screaming sick. "Sorry, forgot how much coughing fits when just waking up suck." she whispered in the aftermath. But at the same time she's content on every level, her cold not withstanding of course.

Slightly later than Trunks was usually up, but that was alright. They'd shifted to where he was on his back, and she'd curled up half on his arm, against his side. The coughing though, had him waking up quickly enough. Shifting up on one elbow, and half-turned, arm around her to support her; squeezing gently in comfort when she was done.

"Coughing fits suck, period, from what I understand." Okay, perhaps a bit sleepy still, heard in his voice. Awake enough though. "Want me to go get a water-bottle?"

"Yes please?" as Thea got through the coughing fit. "Always had bad choughs during cold season." she tries to explain. But she could sit semi up which was helping.

Shaking his head, and a finger going to her lips to keep her quiet, there's a shy and sleepy smile. "No talking. You'll cough worse." Leveraging them up the rest of the way to sitting, and she's getting wrapped in a blanket and propped against the pillows, before Trunks moved off the bed. So maybe he was fussing a bit; he'd never really been sick, and he'd never cared for someone who was sick.

He'd never had a girlfriend either, so he was...following his instinct and thoughts? Which said be considerate, but he was also protective. Being sick was a pain, and meant Thea was unhappy and hurting, so he wanted to ease that.

Didn't take long at all before came back with two water-bottles. One for now, and the other for later as it was tucked on the floor by the bed. Sitting back down and holding it for her, opened already. Covering his yawn with his other hand, and watching her with sleepy eyes.

Thea had given in once again, she's wrapped up but sitting up. She's half watching Trunks in the process but she does accept a drink, knowing it would help her with the coughing fits and cleaning her out. But at the same time all this care is just sweet, its been too long since she's been able to just let someone take care of her that was not her brother or the team. Her smile however speaks volumes.

That smile is part of what had won him, or at least given him bravery enough to give all of this a try. If she can still smile like that, where it lights her up and makes you believe she can do anything, after all she's been through... It was enough for him, and brought a smile back.

Settling closer against her, both for support and to provide warmth, he had the cap ready for when she was done with some sips from the bottle. "Just nod your head yes or no. Do you want to curl back up, after some water?"

Thea nods a yes, one more attempt at sleep could help? But her smile is that real one, one not many get to see. Its Thea at her most real and true. But in spite of her current misery she drops a kiss onto Trunks's cheek.

She's squeezed gently in a hug in turn, his head leaning against hers, at the kiss. Waiting to be sure she's done with the water bottle, before re-capping it. Making sure it's sealed, then placing it nearby. "Alright, so more cuddling it is, and hopefully some more sleep and rest."

Trunks kept her wrapped up in the blankets, and moved to wrap his arms around her too. Cuddling and curling her against him protectively, kiss dropped on the top of her head as he breathed in and out, relaxing. Keeping her warm, hoping she was comfy, and ready to try and rest some more himself. "Anything else? Less blankets, more blankets? You comfortable, Thea?"

Thea's throat was screwed up enough from that last fit but she could nod she was ok for the moment. But she does snag a blanket, a sign she's cold since she's gotten good at going non verbal while sick. She's on the mend but its just hit a few tiny snags along the way.

Trunks just tucks that blanket around her more too, before settling down. "Sleep if you can Thea, and don't worry." The unspoken I'm here, I'll handle it hopefully got through to her as well as Trunks took a breath in and out, and relaxed.

Hopefully he'd be able to sleep again too. Once they were both awake again, it'd be time for food, and then she was getting clean while he did laundry. How very very exciting.
