Team Arrow had defeated Prometheus and had escaped Lian Yu.

But in the process the last few weeks had wrecked Thea enough that a simple summer cold had basically knocked her flat. Nothing serious thankfully, just a combo of stress and a summer cold messing her up all at once.

So she was basically stuck indoors on bed rest for a mere cold when she felt that now familiar chill that was Trunks's typical arrival. Little did she know it was a wild round of time travel phone tag since Felicity had called Ray who called Rip who called Trunks. Between coughing fits she calls from the sofa,"I know that chill anywhere!" as a nasty sneeze can be heard. But he would find her on the couch with enough tissues to stock a small army and looking as miserable as she sounded on the phone the prior night when she made it back to Star City.

"You're late!" but the tone in Thea's voice is showing she's simply joking around and being a little silly. But she's also seen the changes over the last few months, all for the better from Trunks being able to talk tech and snark with Felicity to not backing down in a fight. "So what's the plan for this weekend? Because I snagged movie tickets and a new BBB just opened up downtown."

"Movie was part of the plan I knew about, but I have other plans for food." With a grin and smile back, moving close enough to lean in and slide an arm around her in a hug. "Beach picnic, is what I was thinking. I have food for it and everything." Along with a kiss on her cheek.

As the hug/kiss was returned Thea's smile is at its most real. "All for that, the weather is in our favor this time!" since the prior visit had been nothing but rain for most of the weekend. "And the closet is losing boxes since Oliver may have found a place finally!" her brother's move being a source of comedy.

Rain had at least meant lots of cuddling on the couch in front of the TV. Which wasn't a bad way to spend it. Patrols hadn't even been that bad; considering Trunks wasn't on a 'no-ki' restriction then, he'd shown Thea the quick way of drying off.

Mostly by hugging her, and then flaring his ki in an aura around them both enough to dry them.

"What's it like, and how long will it take before he decides he dislikes this one? Also where to first, oh guide?"

The flare of ki was a reminder for Thea that everything was as it should be, the pressure was a grounding force for her now. "As for Oliver I'm giving this one 20 minutes!" partly since the move had become an ongoing joke in terms of his picky nature. "Burgers, a stop at the cave to just say hello since I'm off while you're here and we see what happens from there?" she offered. "And any news from Rip?" since on occasion he would pass news to her and Team Arrow via Trunks.

"Sounds like a plan. I have a note to pass Ollie from Rip, on behalf of someone else. I don't know who gave it to him originally, but we are both under strict orders to act as messengers only." A grin, and Trunks stepped back. Mostly to let Thea give him the cue if they were flying, or walking. "Other than that, he's well enough. On duty since I'm here, and was checking into a minor anomaly. Working theory is it's from trying to make a time machine that doesn't make 'ripples' so to speak."

"Not a shocker by now." Thea nodded as she shares Sara's most recent bar fight. "Pretty sure its not a good night unless the Legends get into at least one fight right? And I'm parked downstairs ready for a night of fun." pulling Trunks into another hug in the process. "And Ray did mention something odd but he's thinking the same thing." meaning the tech.

"I'm not exactly one to judge..." On the tendency to get into fights that is. Kami knows he's had more than his share in many ways--even for someone with saiyan genes.

The hug though, is being returned--including picking Thea up and spinning her while holding her tightly for the moment. Then just holding her again, and leaning his head against hers. "When you're messing with quantum theory and 4 dimensions minimum, I'm surprised more doesn't go wrong honestly."

Soon as Thea was ready though, he'd follow. No problems at all either driving her bike himself or riding behind her.

"Bike's downstairs." Thea nods as she observed. "I mean from what you and Ray have been teaching me along with Curtis and Felicity it makes sense. The more options the more than can go wrong right?" showing she's a quick study. Plus her friends make it a lot less Greek.

"I think I'd rather not think about it." Not upset, with a hint of a joking tone. It was all complicated though and like he said, he was surprised MORE didn't go wrong. "Lead on, Thea."

Quick stop for burgers, and to say hi to her team at the cave before they headed for a movie. A good blend of action and comedy, with no one really taking themselves too seriously. After that, the bike was re-capsuled once they were out of the city proper. Trunks was taking over as the main 'transport' so to speak.

Not hard to carry Thea, flying them out to a nearby lake and small beach. From there, his own capsule with supplies was pulled out. Most of the crate's space was taken up by food, although he pulled out a blanket for them to sit on on the sand. Chicken and vegetable kebabs, a pasta salad, rolls, some kind of fruited iced-tea. Picnic on the beach, like he'd said and planned.

More than happy to just spend time with her. They didn't have to be doing anything but be together. Cuddling during the movie was nice, and holding her close while flying was nice too. In private he was always more willing to be affectionate, given that even when the shyness was gone, he was still fairly reserved.

The food was finished, and it was starting to get darker as they looked out over the lake. Trunks was more than happy just with Thea leaning against him and him leaning back, enjoying the moment. Turning and nuzzling her hair gently, with a sigh of contentment. "So much nicer when you're not sick."

"Everything is better when I'm not hacking up a lung or worse." Thea observed as she leaned against Trunks. But she's at the happiest she's been in ages, recent illness not included. "So fill me in, you mentioned the rebuilding being ahead of schedule?" since a few weekends ago she had made the hop in terms of visiting.

"Just that. I'm trying to not be paranoid because it seems like it's going too well and smoothly, if you know what I mean?"

"But West City is in good shape, honestly. There have still been a few protestors and people trying to say Capsule Corp is trying to take credit for it all, and ruining things. But honestly? What figures and numbers we have show very little profit, if any, off of anything we've done. Not to mention there just is no one else stepping up to do some of the things we have the resources for and CAN do."

A huffed out sigh, as it was frustrating. "Mother is a genius though. She's managed to work with all but the most contrary and stubbornly-set-in-their ways protesters, to actually have them take over and do things. Sort of a 'put their money where their mouth is' type deal."

It made perfect sense as Thea nodded between bites. "Exactly from what you've been telling me especially on the numbers end especially." She then muses,"Know what you mean though, its like we never know when the next shoe is going to drop from colds to goons."

"I would rather not think about colds or goons. Well, not unless it's beating up goons. Your goons are easy to handle."

Easy for him anyways, as Trunks turned his head in to lean against her shoulder. MUCH nicer to focus on her, and having her healthy and there, as this was a date weekend. Especially that spot right in the crook of her neck under her ear, where the scent of 'her' was strongest; nuzzling closer into that.

"And I get a challenge out of your goons so even split?" Thea joked softly as she curled into Trunks. But this was supposed to be a weekend away from goons and fighting so she's given in and cutting loose a bit. As for scent its a combo of cherry blossom perfume, leather, sweat and a hint of spice.

She probably felt the smile and chuckle as much as heard it. "All the really normal ones. Which I'm glad, honestly, are what's left in my world." But he pulled back, and there was a hint of worry in his eyes. "I...that...I don't mean that as insulting either, Thea."

Because he really didn't, but he was worried it could be taken that way.

"No offense taken." as Thea drops a kiss onto Trunks's cheek to show no harm was meant or done. "So what lies ahead beyond movies, burgers and maybe lending a hand with patrol? But fair warning, I think all the goons are on vacation." an ongoing joke for things being quiet in Star City.

"Well, my big idea was this, so I'm up for almost anything." 'This' having been the beach picnic, as Trunks leaned in to nuzzle her nose, then moved back to her shoulder and breathing in her scent there. "Simple as it is, I just like the quiet stuff." The arm around her giving a squeeze to remind her she's the best part of that quiet stuff.

Thea nuzzles Trunks's cheek as she speaks,"I'm thinking burgers, movies and us being a normal couple if only for a few more days and the return of reality?" she softly added. "And its nice, the quiet stuff." and a quick hug to remind him he's the best part of that. "And you know something? Once things calm down a bit I'm thinking vacation. We need fun as you love to remind me."

Again that quiet chuckle, breath puffing against her neck and another squeeze. "You help me remember I need fun." Murmured against her neck, and another nuzzle before pulling back with an honestly content smile. "Right now though, this is perfect."

"A reminder never hurts. Plus you'll get me in a bikini." Thea dangles her extra mini weapon as she drops a kiss onto his cheek. "And right now this is perfect."

The flush was instant, red along his cheeks and neck at the image and mouth slightly open. Not that he seemed to mind the idea, as blue eyes darkened slightly with interest. Struck still for a second, before he laughs slightly at himself and brings a hand up to stroke her cheek. "Better you than me in a bikini."

Lame joke. Very lame, but it's his attempt to try and get his brain jumpstarted again. At least enough to lean in and kiss her properly. Hand stroking her cheek to the nape of her neck, encouraging her more into the kiss with his hold.

Thea leans into the kiss along with a soft yet sweet laugh. "I like the jokes." she added softly. "And you'll get me into that bikini before you know it."

Another soft laugh of his own, and Trunks let both arms slide around her fully to pull her into the kiss. "You're not a prize Thea, to be won like that. But it'll be a nice change from your usual uniform." She wasn't an 'object' to him, in any way shape or form.

"I take it we're going somewhere tropical then?" Spoken against her mouth as he shifted to settle himself more comfortably in his seated position. To hold her and give her more support while enjoying their closeness.

"Tropical indeed, we both need the break if only for a few days." but the shy smile speaks a lot. Thea's been seen as the prize more than her share of times and Trunks knows that. She shifts just enough to settle in, this was nice.
