Team Arrow had defeated Prometheus and had escaped Lian Yu.

But in the process the last few weeks had wrecked Thea enough that a simple summer cold had basically knocked her flat. Nothing serious thankfully, just a combo of stress and a summer cold messing her up all at once.

So she was basically stuck indoors on bed rest for a mere cold when she felt that now familiar chill that was Trunks's typical arrival. Little did she know it was a wild round of time travel phone tag since Felicity had called Ray who called Rip who called Trunks. Between coughing fits she calls from the sofa,"I know that chill anywhere!" as a nasty sneeze can be heard. But he would find her on the couch with enough tissues to stock a small army and looking as miserable as she sounded on the phone the prior night when she made it back to Star City.

"Some of the distance is because of my job..." Gently said, as she also was well-aware that he'd had an upbringing without a lot of people around. Also that he was often overly-serious, rather than casual. That he was now a Time Patroller, and had to keep professional distance because of that only added to things.

Squeezing their joined hands, other one coming up to brush her cheek and hair in affection. "See what happens when you actually rest and let yourself heal?" Teasingly, glad she was feeling better. Symptoms might linger, but the more her body fought off the infection, the better it would be.

"That is true but at the same time you're letting your guards down if only a little." Thea offered. "And I also have learned when to just throw in the towel." able to joke but she knew once she gave up and just took a break she would shake the cold. "The cough may stick around but nothing a well hidden bag of hard candy won't cure."

"Resting alone won't fix it all." Leaning his head against hers, eyes closed and enjoying the moment. "Just don't throw any of those towels at me, okay?" Maybe teasing slightly himself, with the barest hint of insecurity revealed too.

"Anyways," Letting the closeness go, although he kept hold of her hand. "I figured you were sick of being cooped up, and since I'm not allowed to take you anywhere proper for a meal right now, this would have to do." Leading her to the blankets and floor-pillows, and dinner spread out on the same.

"Only an expression!" Thea proves it with a kiss on Trunks's cheek. "And just in time honestly, I'm sick of being cooped up and this is really cool too." thankful she had grabbed her motorcycle jacket before coming onto the balcony. Her smile however speaks volumes, the little things are even sweeter now.

His own smile was soft, rarely seen as he was rarely content--but at that moment he was. Content, and happy, and not worried for once--often Trunks was far too serious. "Well, keep resting and getting better, and while I'm here I'll take you out more."

Twining his fingers with hers where they held hands, and letting her find a comfortable spot before he settled near her. Enough to be close, both because he wanted to, and because he could help with warmth and food that way. Folding himself down, and pulling over various stuff to start serving. It was a good variety and amount of food--mostly because of his own appetite.

A hearty soup, fried chicken and kebabs, some type of pasta dish, a salad with veggies and fruit garnished with nuts, and assorted dinner rolls. Water and iced-tea both, and if she wanted hot tea he'd be happy to go make it. Maybe it wasn't as nice a picnic as it could be, but the view of the city was nice, and it was pleasantly cool with a light breeze to help dissipate the heat that had soaked into the concrete and steel of the city.

Trunks did his best to relax, breathing out a sigh--but a good one. Moments of peace were very rare to him, or had been for most of his growing-up. They were becoming more common, and he was grateful for it. Glad to be here, even if the patrols were boring, because he knew he was helping. Not just helping someone he considered an ally, but someone he cared for very deeply. Who helped him smile more, and relax, and just...Thea accepted him. Seriousness, troubled-upbringing, quiet-ness and all.

"You know this is a level equal to Barry food wise?" but the tone was pure teasing since Thea was able to lower her guard and make jokes again. But in a sign she's getting better she's actually eating, the balcony also being a nice change of scene from the sofa and bedroom too. Between bites she curls into Trunks, partly for warmth and mostly because its nice. In the process she drops another kiss onto Trunks's cheek before turning long enough to cough, not serious this time around.

She is more than welcome to curl in, solid and becoming used to hear leaning against him. No objections, whether she was sick or not, and he was happy to help support her. "Yes, and you know why right? Heightened metabolisms." But Trunks got the teasing tone, smiling a bit. "This is part of why, if I'm 'visiting', and the Allens put me up, I try to bring my own supplies as well. It's kind enough of them to let me stay there, I don't need to add to the burden."

Anytime she coughed, even if it wasn't serious, Trunks supported her. Arm around her shoulders, or waist, and close. More than willing to lean and be her strength while she was recovering, and then nuzzling her hair gently once she was done.

Most of the food definitely went to him, but that's part of why there was plenty to share, and plenty for Thea to eat that would be good while recovering. Easy things to eat, and taken at their own pace. Maybe not the best view, but in some ways given her patrols? Looking out over the other roofs and alley ways was how she saw the city, so it was familiar.

"We need something fun for when I'm off sick leave." Thea mused. "I'm thinking a movie or something like that? Simple in case I'm not totally 100% but also fun since you mentioned one about to come out last time you were here." as she snags another piece of chicken along with a refill of her tea. "And you know I would not mind you leaving supplies here too? Can always pass them off as storing things while Oliver is apartment hunting."

Helping pass things to her, as they sat close, and he'd finished his own tea. So time to refill for them both. "I might start doing that. Just don't make it habit to get sick to bring me here." Brushing her hair with his fingers, his grin is actually impish for once. Teasing her, in turn.

"Movie, or maybe just out and walking. I like touring your city with you, you know that." A pause, those same fingers sliding to gently cup her cheek. "Seriously though, aside from you being sick this has been really...nice." Another small smile, eyes closed and breathing in and out contentedly. "Probably the longest we've spent time together without a crisis."

He might have to start doing it more often. Chronoa would be shocked, and applauding Thea. As much as she appreciated her workaholic assistants, they needed lives too.

"This is among the few times I've been really sick oddly enough." Thea confessed. Of course she's not counting the pit saga but there have been a few super minor bugs along the way. "And in agreement, we need more crisis free visits." dropping a kiss onto Trunks's cheek in the process. "Plus since Oliver's in the middle of a move nobody would suspect a thing." meaning her keeping clothes since Oliver's storing boxes at her place.

The pit saga totally didn't count, as far as Trunks was concerned; recovery from injuries was different than getting a virus or infection.

"Should I tell your brother if I'm visiting while he's moving?" Trunks asked, smile full of amusement. "With our luck he'll put me to work hauling." Which honestly wouldn't be a problem--it wasn't like any of it would be heavy, for Trunks at least--aside from cutting in on their together time.

Letting one arm move around her back in support, he leaned up and brushed a kiss against her brow. "I'm glad you don't get sick though. It is not a pleasant state, from all I can tell. I'd worry more, for one."

"Well its your call but to avoid being drafted I would skirt Oliver." but Thea does giggle. In the process she drops a kiss onto Trunks's cheek,"Its pretty rare thankfully, only an occasional cold or freak food based bug." she admits. "And you know I do my share of the worrying right?" mostly given the distance aspect.

Logically, he knew she'd worry yes. Emotionally he knew too, but having a girlfriend was still a new experience over all. Hearing her say it outright brought a slight widening of blue-eyes, and a sheepish look.

"I'll do my best to not be as silent then. Sorry Thea..." Tightening his arm around her just enough for a proper hug. Holding it and leaning his forehead against hers affectionately. "I'm still getting used to people worrying about me besides my mother..."

"I get it, its new ground for you while I'm in my first healthy relationship in ages." Thea observed along with a kiss on the cheek. "And if all else fails you have ways of reaching me via the Legends and Team Flash too." since all the teams were in the know and were all for Thea and Trunks. "I also asked Curtis and Ray to upgrade your phone too, so we won't have as much time travel phone tag to deal with."

Okay; a part of his brain (and hormones) were tired of only being kissed on the cheek now. Because Thea was a lot better, and she was still cute and attractive and he cared even if she was sick and good thing he couldn't get sick. All kind of going through his brain in a babble, as Trunks tilted his head and leaned in again. Eyes closed, soft--and just a gentle press of lips to lips, to let her decide if she wanted to continue.

His arm stayed tight around her though, free hand coming up to brush through her hair in affection.

Thea just went for it, she was tired of being the good girl and waiting for the right moment. So cue return actual kiss,"Pretty good for a first actual kiss." she softly giggled before going in for a second round.

They'd shared quick kisses before--goodnight, greeting... But nothing longer than basic signs of affection. There was a breath, including an inhale and hint of tension-good kind, as his cheeks were red--when she commented, and then Trunks' attention was given to other things.

Eyes still closed, making that connection of lips more deliberate. Head tilting just slightly to the side, as his hand that had been playing with her bangs moved to gently rest at the nape of her neck. Still red, but...this was very nice. He'd always been quick to learn (for the most part) and adapt--Thea hadn't needed to play the good girl if she hadn't wanted.

Thea was also very ok with playing the good girl, she was more than willing to wait for things to just fall into place and for timing to be right. "So worth the wait." since she's also red but the good kind.

Don't mind that he's kind of...not sure what to say. Just breathing softly, still close, and kind of stunned for a bit. A few heartbeats pass, before there's a hint of chuckle. "You'd tell me if it was bad, right? My ego can take it, I promise."

Trunks wasn't disagreeing; still flattered and slightly red though. Thea was the one who'd been in relationships before, and while Trunks was trying to not compare or compete... Part of his nature would always be competitive, so it was reassuring to know he was doing it right (so to speak).

Still holding her close and soft kisses given, sharing breath and just enjoying holding her. Grateful she was doing better, and no longer as miserable. Grateful also for half-saiyan physiology which meant no cold-for-him, so kisses were allowed. Keeping a passive-awareness of their surroundings, but otherwise Trunks did his best to just...stay in the moment.
