Daddy Issues, The Queen Edition (Father's Day Plot)

Thea had the quarters to herself and if she was being honest it was kinda nice to be alone with only a trio of very happy (and at the moment sleepy) kittens for company. As she fed the kittens she heard a voice behind her but passed it off as her brain going nutty again. But when she realized just who the voice belong to she shuddered,

"Malcolm Merlyn." she almost hissed,"Just the person I did not want to deal with right now." since honestly it was true. She had only just started facing the tip of her emotional iceberg when it came to the man that was her true father.

She also could feel the waves of wild emotions envelope her, this was not going to end well.



In the aftermath however it was not pretty.

Thea was in tears and slumped against the wall of the living room. That was when the Arrow kittens sprung into action, Kit Kat hopping onto her thankfully covered shoulder and started to purr up a storm to calm her young human down. Pocky and Shiner stood guard close by,making sure their humans human was being cared for. But as the tears kept falling Thea made another decision, she was throwing in the towel and going to sleep on Oliver and Felicity's floor (she had found it helped after the more intense nightmares). So after getting dressed for bed she grabbed a couple of blankets and made sure Kit Kat was safely atop her shoulder before bedding down on the floor. The kittens made perches atop the second pillow (Kit Kat) and close by as Thea cried herself to sleep on the floor.

Malcolm stood behind Thea dressed to the nines in a suit, tie and shoes so shiny one of the kittens crawls over to bat at his face he can see in them. Malcolm Meryln looks at his daughter with a combination of love and sadness. "Hello Thea," he said in his calm, cool voice."

Thea could feel the wall of rage and unexpressed emotions try to envelope her. But the months of work on her demons was starting to pay off as she slipped into what had been called by Laurel a few years ago as ice queen mode. She knew she also needed this in spite of her fears,"What is it Malcolm?" drawing on that old edge and steel. She was also using this to bide time, to piece everything she needed to get into the open into her still shattered and healing mind and soul.

Malcolm studied her his face now unreadable as he dodged kittens and other things in an effort to avoid tripping. "I came to see you when the offer was extended," he replied, "I was made to understand that you would be told about this and made aware that I was coming."

By the skin of her teeth Thea was staying steady,"All of that is true yes. I'm just dealing with a lot and well there's a lot of mental garbage I'm still dealing with." leaving the last few months from stabbing to now at that. "But I'm still angry Malcolm, you made me kill someone who was a sister in all but name!"

Malcolm's steely gaze didn't change, he'd had years to prefect it and he wasn't about to melt now just because he was standing in front of his only family. "I did it to save us," he said, "to save you from suffering for my mistakes. I couldn't fight Ra's myself, but I knew Oliver could...and would. I chose what I knew to be the best option."

"So you left me as bait to the lions, aka I'm a pawn in everyone's game once again." Thea almost snapped. She had slipped deeper into the ice queen, making a promise to herself to not cry until this was over. But things were being said, things that had been months in coming.

"You were never a pawn but a player in a game that saved your life," Malcolm said his own tone dripping with ice. "I wasn't expecting a thank you for that, but some understanding would have been nice."

"Than just stop keeping secrets from me!" Thea was icy but on the razors edge of her own still healing emotions. "You just take people that mean something, people that actually bother to understand me." since only a handful knew how much Thea still was haunted by Sara's death. She was feeling the ice take over by this point, it was keeping her stable. "You have no idea just how much you making me a pawn did damage wise." she almost hissed.

"Then tell me," Malcolm snapped in reply, "you are a Meryln and a Queen start acting like one. When did you let your feelings keep you from telling the truth. Your brother doesn't hide nor did the man who raised you when I wasn't allowed to. Be like them and tell me the truth."

"You betrayed me and my trust." Thea hissed, slipping right back into the ice queen. "You knew just what buttons to push since you know how hard it is for me to even trust people as many times as my heart has been stomped on." she was flying on a combo of sheer rage and raw emotions at this point. She would be wrecked when it was over but everything coming out was months in coming as she basically snapped. "You made me into something I could never live up to!"

"I made you strong," Malcolm replied his tone so cold now you could make snowmen with each word., "one day you'll see that and maybe find it in your heart to thank me for at least that."

The ice was dripping off Thea in spite of the fact a part of her was ready to cry. "Right now I can't and maybe I never will. Just give me space to deal with everything Malcolm, just give me that much. Let me stare down the garbage in my mind." But Thea in reality was cracking and hiding it really well, she would not give Malcolm the joy of seeing her shatter. Honestly however she did want to at least throw something but for now made do with the ice queen glare.
